Food and self-care can feel impossible when your brain and nervous system are different.
You may be exhausted from:
trying to eat “properly”
feeling stuck in all-or-nothing cycles
forgetting meals until you crash
sensory overwhelm around food
chronic illness fatigue
guilt and shame around eating
conflicting nutrition advice
burnout from masking or coping
Support here is collaborative, flexible and tailored to how your brain and body actually function.
How We Work:
Nutrition advice often assumes unlimited energy, executive functioning, time and capacity.
Real life doesn’t work like that.
Support at Imperfectly You Nutrition is grounded in compassion, flexibility and nervous-system-aware care. Together, we focus on realistic strategies that support nourishment without perfectionism.
The goal is not to become “better” at wellness.
The goal is to help food and self-care feel safer, more sustainable and less overwhelming.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s):
Do I need to be diagnosed or identify as neurodivergent (ADHD, Autistic, AuDHD, etc.) to work with you?
No, you do not need to identify as neurodivergent or have a specific neurotype to work with me. My work is centred around supporting people with different brains, different needs, and a wide range of nutrition challenges.
I work with people from many different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of being in the world, including those living with disability, chronic illness, or neurodivergence. My lived experience of neurodivergence, and the challenges that can come with navigating food, eating, and nutrition with a different brain, has shaped my passion for making nutrition support more accessible, supportive, and affirming for a wide range of people.
How many sessions will I need to achieve my goals?
This depends on a few factors, including your goals, your current health and relationship with food, your capacity, and your personal preferences.
Some people may only need a few sessions before feeling they have the tools and support to make the changes they want with their nutrition. Others may have been struggling for a long time, or may have a relationship with food that feels stressful, overwhelming, or is impacting their mental or physical health. In these situations, longer-term support with a dietitian is often more helpful and sustainable.
Dietitians use counselling skills, much like counsellors and mental health professionals, to explore the thoughts, feelings, values, and internalised messages that shape your relationship with food and your body. Together, we work to challenge unhelpful patterns and build more supportive, sustainable ways of caring for yourself.
This process takes time. Building trust, understanding your experiences, and creating a safe and supportive space for change and healing often happens gradually over multiple sessions. Because of this, ongoing support may be beneficial in helping you make meaningful and lasting changes.

Why are your regular appointment prices different for Plan Managed and Self Managed NDIS participants?
Like many healthcare businesses, we review our fees each year to reflect increasing business costs and to ensure we can continue providing high-quality, sustainable care.
For NDIA-managed and plan-managed participants, NDIS pricing arrangements are set by the government and do not always keep pace with inflation or the rising costs of delivering healthcare services. To continue providing comprehensive, evidence-based dietetic support, our fees are set to reflect the true cost of delivering quality care. Government funding is applied as a contribution toward the service, with any remaining amount becoming the gap payment for private clients, Medicare clients, self-managed NDIS participants, and private health clients.
Our session fees are based on the many components involved in delivering an individualised, high-quality healthcare service. These include:
Administration time, including reviewing referrals, responding to enquiries, discussing services, and managing bookings
Secure software and systems used for appointments, bookings, and confidential data management
Clinical documentation completed outside of appointments, including letters to GPs and other health professionals, treatment planning, and NDIS progress or end-of-plan reports
Compliance requirements, insurance, and professional supervision
Ongoing professional development and evidence-based training
The broader costs involved in providing safe, ethical, and high-quality care
We understand that everyone has different financial circumstances, support needs, and capacity. To help make support more accessible and flexible, we offer both 30-minute and 45-minute review appointments to accommodate different needs and preferences.
Why don’t you work with male clients or children under 18?
My practice is intentionally focused on supporting women and gender-diverse adults aged 18 years and over. This allows me to provide care that is aligned with my experience, areas of interest, and the populations I feel best placed to support.
I aim to create a safe, supportive, and affirming environment for the clients I work with, particularly for those navigating neurodivergence, chronic illness, body image concerns, disordered eating, and complex relationships with food. By maintaining a focused client population, I am able to provide care that is more tailored and aligned with the needs of the people my practice is designed to support.
If you are looking for support outside of these groups, I would encourage you to seek a dietitian who is the right fit for your needs and preferences.
Why don’t you work with clients experiencing Anorexia, Bulimia or other restrict/binge/purge eating disorder subtypes?
At this time, I am not able to support clients experiencing Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, or eating disorders that involve significant medical risk or high levels of support needs.
These conditions often require intensive, multidisciplinary care and close medical monitoring, including the ability for clinicians to provide a high level of ongoing support and responsiveness between appointments. As a sole practitioner, I am not able to provide the level of availability, crisis support, or intensive care that may be needed to safely and appropriately support these presentations.
To provide ethical and safe care, it is important that clients are matched with practitioners and services that have the appropriate capacity, resources, and treatment structures in place. I strongly encourage anyone seeking support for these conditions to connect with a specialised eating disorder team or service that can provide comprehensive care.
I do support clients with disordered eating, chronic dieting, binge eating, body image concerns, neurodivergence-related eating challenges, and complex relationships with food where a lower level of care is appropriate.
